After a female couple was asked to leave Sainsbury's in Brighton for kissing, hundreds protested the discrimination with a student-organized kiss-in. Brighton resident Fiona Spechter said the incident “made me realise how I can take it for granted that I can hold my girlfriend’s hand in public...when something like this happens, it’s really shocking.” Sainsbury's apologized.
